Robert (Bob/Bobby) Albert Woods passed away on December 12, 2023 at the age of 76 with family at his bedside. Parents Lewis Richard Woods and Helga Marie Peterson. Robert grew up with many siblings: Larry, Harold (Woody), Ronnie, Kenneth (Kenny), Suzanne (Suzie), Leanne and Linda.
Robert got married to his first wife Judith Powers. Their children were Shawna (Michael Butera), Robert (Regina) and Andrea Abeyta. Robert married Annette DeVita Smith some years later, welcoming her sons Brandon and Matthew Smith. 7 grandchildren: Derek, Kayleigh, Catherine, Alexandria, Monique, Gino and Delanee. 6 great grandchildren: Grayson, Bodhi, Elinore, Adaline, Jessica and Daniel.
Robert was a building contractor most of his life rebuilding homes for Fanny Mae and also building the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. Bob was an avid golfer and was in many leagues. He later worked at Sierra Lakes Golf Course and rebuilt golf carts. Fishing was important to Bob. He fished every year in Bridgeport in the Sierra Nevada’s, California with his buddies. He called himself “The Fishing Legend”. Saloon Songs by Frank Sinatra were his favorites. Mickey Mouse was his personal hero. Robert joined the American Legion #0772 where he organized golf tournaments for many years.
Robert is predeceased by his brothers Carl (1951), Raymond (1951) and Ronald (2020).
Services for Robert will take place at Fontana Mortuary located at 8030 Mango Ave, Fontana, California 92336 on January 10, 2024
