Norman passed away July 7th of natural causes after living a long full life. He was born and raised in Kansas along with his 5 brothers Arnold, Albert, Bill, Eugene, and Ralph and two sisters Alice McCorkle and Motha (Maxine) Ellsworth. When he was 17 he joined the Navy Seabees during WW11. He was involved in the invasions of Saipan and Okinawa.
After the war Norman, at the age of 21, returned to Kansas to marry Eldora Chitwood. Together they raised five boys Richard, Randy, Michael, Rodney, and Gregory. Eldora passed away after 42 years of marriage and Norman was soon to be remarried to Helen Wales. They enjoyed 30 years of retirement together before her passing.
Norman worked in the oilfield industry his whole life. From land rigs in Kansas to offshore drilling in California and in the North Sea. He left many friends around the world who loved and admired him.
He is survived by His Sister Maxine and three of his sons Richard, Rodney, and Gregory.
He also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many in-laws and family by marriage and a host of friends.
Grave site services with military honors will be held on Friday July 28 11:30 am at Riverside National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fontana Mortuary 909 822-2285
